Gitxsan Forest Enterprises Inc. (GFEI) was established in 2006 and purchased Forest License A16831 in April of 2007. The company has an Annual Allowable Cut of 387,879 cubic meters from the Kispiox Timber Supply Area.

GFEI is owned and operated by the Gitxsan Chiefs whose traditional territory encompasses nearly 30,000 square kilometers of the most decadent forests in the north western region of British Columbia.

The forest tenure is located in the region between Smithers and Terrace, British Columbia. Highway 16 and CN Rail's northern line runs through the region.

GFEI's timber ships out of the nearest ports in the region: Kitimat Port, Port of Prince Rupert and Stewart, British Columbia.

The head office is located in Hazelton, British Columbia at 1525 Omineca Street, in the Village of Hazelton (Old Hazelton).
